Can't complain

Even if the assholes above our condo have an affinity for opening and closing the door in the morning all you simply need to do is look outside and realize HEY we are in Hawaii. That pretty much trumps all things and you go back to vacation mode. Now if I can get some pics to load that would be very acceptable.

Peace Out!

3 days in and it still rocks!!

Being on Vacation you run into this phenomena that is time warping. It is an event that speeds the time in a day by two fold. What I have noticed is that days seem to melt away and at the end of the vacation you realize that you have been bamboozled by this phenomena into losing parts if not all of some of your days. Never the less we are enjoying our time greatly and have good friends to enjoy our time so even when this injustice happens we will have gotten plenty out of our time here.
Tonight we have our Luau and some sitting at the pool time. All that is left for the week is a whale watching trip and another nice dinner. Nothing else is on our agenda but I might find some time to go Kayaking and ziplining. Ah the life on vacation!!

Peace Out!

p.s. I will try to post those pics now.......

Good news Bad news

So we made it safely to Hawaii and even got a room upgrade!! We actually got a better vehicle and a better room and all the while we haven't had to pay a dime extra! That's the good news the bad news is that the laptop from which this blog is being created took a knock today. While opening the back of the Pontiac Torrent (great name for geeks) the supposed protective bag I purchased specifically for this laptop tumbled out of the back hitting the ground. All that happened is a corner ding with a very small piece of plastic being tweaked back. There is also damage to the corner of the LCD screen but as I look at the screen now there is no picture damage. So this starts the vacation on a good and bad note but since nothing is actually broken I am still in a fantastic mood. Now if I could get my XM to pick up a signal I would be that much happier.

pics to follow since this wireless connection sucks...

Peace out!

Aloha!

This may be my last post for at least a week since Ashley and I will be visiting the beautiful Islands of Hawaii. Unless I get a bug up my ass and use this laptop while were there and update ya'll on what is happening. Hmm Hawaii blogging, sounds fun. I am a little pissed however that I will not be able to attend the monthly poker tourney at the Hawkins'. With Ashley and I's good showing last month we need to be there to see if we can repeat. Oh well it's not like we're missing because we just don't want to go TODD!!!

Peace Out!!

Question

Does anyone know if there is a maximum limit for laptop batteries? What I mean is if I want to get a spare battery does it matter which I get as long as the dimensions are correct for the battery slot. I don't plan on cramming a larger battery in here just to see if it'll fit I am trying to get the largest Mah to extend my mobile enjoyment. With the current 9 cell battery (10.8V 6000Mah) i get close to 3 hours of constant use no adjustments. I think can get larger 9 cell batteries but I don't want to damage any internals with the change. SO if you know anything about batteries for Laptops please help.

Peace Out!

Wireless Beauty

I think that it is pretty cool that I can take a laptop and connect to an available wireless network and do whatever the Internet has available. The last post was my first post on the new laptop and I was impressed that it is that easy. Call me geeky or less than geeky since I am amazed by that but I can remember being in High School and it was an anamoly to hear someone say they had Internet access at home. Now with the advancement in Technology we can communicate basically anywhere in the entire world attached to nothing. You add a solar panel charger to your laptop and you literally never have to be plugged in or attached to anything in the world. That's pretty cool.

Another beautiful thing that has not shown its true potential is the ability to make money on the blog site. I have those little google ads at the top of this blog and by people clicking on them (hint hint) there is a program that tracks this and pays me because of the traffic my site has diverted. Now don't get me wrong I am not rollin with no benjamins yet but get enough people to go exploring on those advetisements and I could get like 5 bucks. Hey beggers can't be choosers. So check it out and i'll keep you posted maybe if I get enough i'll cash out and put it all on red!

Peace Out!

Ace Jack Baby!

Ok so it's not pretty but I will take it. Last night after the Annual 606 Diaries award Gala John and I played a couple minutes of poker (shut it Ashley). The structure of the game is a best of 3 heads-up Hold em tourney. During the first set of games it was all John. I really didn't show any signs of winning. The second set was all together a different story. John won the first game but that was the last of John's fun. The second game was nearly over when I realized a hand I thought I lost was actually a split pot. This was perfect since I had a good amount of chips to keep going. It was a true showing of a grind session. I was wearing John down, it was all about the setup. The winning hand for me was King Jack off versus Ace King. This is not what I want to see but I had to expect something from John with him calling my all in. A Jack was the door card and John did not know what hit him. The third game began yet another grind session. I won a couple good pots and lost a few. The winning hand came when I had Ace Jack and John went all in. I called and what do you know John has Ace King again. So I have one live card to end the series and get my five bucks back. Out comes the flop and another jaw dropping Jack comes out as the door card. Wahoo! I sucked out on John as he does on far too many occasions. I guess this is what he feels like all the time! That's right don't make me come in here again and tell you again!

On a side note the 606 gathering was quite fun. I was able to meet many of the contributors to that blog and have a good dinner with Todd. I was outvoted on many of my choices for the awards. I am not down about it though since most of my votes were based off of the fact that a half naked or scantly clad female was pictured. This was obviously not the voting practices of the other visitors to this site but I digress. Until next year may his pictures be clear and exciting and most importantly include more chicks in bikinis!

Peace Out!

Poker is more fun when you win

Well I didn't actually win since I took 2nd but when you have a good streak of cards or play better than normal Poker is enjoyable. While Ashley got 3rd what I am happiest about is that I played more like I should. I played good cards strong and just about maximized my winning hands. I could have been a little better here or there but it is important to reflect on what worked also.

Well today is the annual 606 awards dinner and I am off to make an appearance. While I have never once appeared on the site I enjoy reading the site and truly enjoy Todd's commitment to posting. He is a great guy and I am looking forward just to be able to hang out with him. I get along so much better with Geeks!

Peace Out!

Why I like Sports

Today was a showing of what makes Sports great. I am not a Colts fan but I have a true appreciation for what Peyton Manning brings to the game. I also have a lot of respect for Tony Dungy not because he's an African American coach but because he coaches with a Christian spirit. It is an example all can look at and learn from. It is also a reflection of why I don't like the NBA. Sports are about teamwork and intrigity in that regards. College Basketball and Football are two of my all time favorite sports to watch. Those players are not getting paid (well ok not out in the open paid) yet they play with their hearts on there sleeves and pride openly displayed. I say good job Peyton fantastic leadership Dungy and may many others follow in the path you have displayed. These are why I like Sports.

Peace Out!

In a Galaxy far far away....

The beautiful thing about blogging is that you start out with all these great ideas and theories on how you are going to keep your blog fresh and exciting. You first start by posting nearly every single day for a week maybe even two and then you hit a wall. All the funny thoughts and theories you have of the world and its vaarious polices begins to die away. You spend then next few months posting a couple times a week because the luster of blogging has not yet been lost. But then it happens a chunk of time passes and you begin to realize that while you still have all these quirky events and thoughts in your life you never actually get off your ass and blog about them. Of course this is an assumption that you don't spend nearly every waking hour in a day on or near a computer and blogging would require you to make an effort to get to a computer. I would be safe to say that the regular visitors to this blog (thank you by the way) are in a category like myself that finds ourselves on on near the computer ALL FREAKIN DAY. I think its also safe to assume that most of us visit other bloggers and read there diatribes wondering why the heck dont THEY post everyday the lazy bastards. So what is the point? Well I really dont know but I find myself on so many occasions during the day thinking of quirky thoughts and most definetly find myself involved around interesting and laughable situations. What I dont understand is why I get so damn lazy when it comes to updating my posts. It could be that the extra keystrokes to log onto this site takes all of 4 seconds. Or it could be that there are sports in my vacinity and after reading Todd's comments on his blog that I am satisfied with my internet experience for the day and am ready to move on. I dont really know. I do wish that my immediate family would read more and comment more makin me feel a little more obligated to post. My family has a gene that is rare that prohibits us for making phone calls to each other or writing emails to each other. I guess it was triggered by this influx of technology that allows us to communicate so much easier and cheaper than ever before. It causes our brains to go into vapor lock causing the autonomic nervous system to kick in flailing us around in a clicking frenzy causing us to destroy cell phones and logout of the internet. It really is quite tragic. Ok well hope you enjoyed the tangent and its off to work and more of not calling or writing my brother....

Peace Out!
