Defcon 4

Does anyone know if there is an official "Tired" ranking system. I feel about as tired as a one-legged man running a marathon. Objective number 1, find out how the hell I can get to bed at a semi-reasonable time. 4:45 rolls around quick!

Peace Ozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Resident Evil

For those of us gamers just the name alone will spark vivid memories of hours and hours of excited video game fun. This weekend had some hours of that fun but we (yes I mean Ashley and I) didn't go too overboard. So far RE4 has been a lot of fun, but it reminds me that not too long ago the games we played had an extremly different appearence. By that I mean graffics. A couple weeks ago I was surfin around and I wanted to find an old game I remember playing and every memory I had was of this fun innovative game I just couldnt get enough of. Well as the internet goes of course I found it and to my shock it has some of the most horrible graffics I have ever seen. I thought to myself what the hell was that? I know that at the time the graffics were great (it was on the 3DO system) and the gameplay was awesome. So what now? Could I get this game and somehow play it? Could I get past the absolutly atrocious graffics and see the game for what it was back then? Well since the game was only made for the 3DO the hope of me ever trying again is pretty much done but memory lane was fun. So how about you? Are there games out there that when looked at today people wonder how the hell you got away with justifying so much money and time spent playing? I remember the game being fun and worth it but maybe that was because we just didnt have a choice in the matter it was either this or actually go outside and do something.

Peace Out.

Do you ever wonder?

Do you ever wonder where you would be if you stuck with something that you started when you were a kid. I know some of you are actually still heavily involved in that "something" so you can see where it took you, but there are some of us that did something for a good amount of time and then for whatever reason we stopped. For me it is climbing. I know that I am getting back into shape with climbing but I started over ten years ago. I wonder what would have happened if everyday and every week I kept that same enthusiasm from when I started climbing and I never stopped training as hard as I was and I just kept getting stronger. I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason (yes even losing at poker) so I know that I am where I am at for a specific reason. It helps that I am happy with my life and that things are good for me, but I wonder sometimes what would have happened.

Peace Out.

Less climbing for me soon

I recieved these two "flappers" last night climbing in a game we climbers call tag. It was a good game but I ended up conceding due to injuries. You be the judge.

Damn it's a Tuesday

I checked the calender and my birthday falls on a Tuesday. (It's Dec. 12th for all you non-knowing folk). The reason I am bummed is because I would expect nothing less than a birthday weekend like the one that Ashley received this weekend. First off it started on Friday at noon when I hand delivered her a dozen roses followed by a lunch her boss paid for at red robin (she got a shake for free for her birthday). Then after work we meet up at Hakari japanese rest. for a Habachi Dinner (which again her boss paid for((she got a free craved orange dessert thing there)). Oh and then we go to the Chandalier Hookah Lounge for a couple rounds of Hookah (the second round of Peach,Plum, fruity goodness was free((which was also paid for by her boss(((damn shes goat a nice boss, makes me look sucky))). Then on saturday (which was the actual day of her birthday) she gets to go to Kings Fish House in the district for some Alaskan King Crab legs. And to end her Saturday we go play poker at the Hawkins house (you can read the previous post to see how that went). But wait there's more. On sunday her parents come over and we watch one of the movies she got for her Birthday (harry potter 4) followed by dinner at Garduno's at the Palms (which her dad paid for). Of course I could say that her birthday was pretty damn good for me since I was at all the dinners and the lunch (and other things but hey thats for another site). So for all you out there that are looking to spend the day or weekend for that matter with me on my birthday there is a lot to live up too. The only bad thing is my boss works out of Cali. Oh well theres always my friend to mooch off of....

Peace out.

Time to Vent!

So poker can suck my ass right about now. Actually no I take that back I love poker the game has no problems with it. What I would really like have give me a rusty is LUCK or for that matter the lack of luck. I will never claim that I am a great poker player or a very skilled poker player but I would like to think that I do have some skill and I do make some good plays. Tonight I wasn't playing bad I was sticking to only playing good hands and for the most parts I was squeking by. Then came along 10/J off (LOL) so I call the big blind from middle position (ok so far). Flop comes out blank 10 J. Yea baby 2 pair. John is first to act he bets 700. I go all in for 1375 more there was a fold and then back to John. He thinks for a couple seconds starts fiddling with chips moving them in and out of the pot and eventually calls me. I figured he had two overs turns out he has K Q off. So yea I say "well it's been fun" and sure enough a 9 hits on the turn so John makes his straight a blank on the river seals my fate and I get up refusing a handshake from John (that was probably bad etiquette). So I leave with Ashley just absolutly fuming. Why is it that I have such bad luck. Why is it that everyone else that I play against has so much better luck than I. Should I just go all in every time I have even the most mediocre hand a pray that I can get away with the blinds? I would love to see the stat on how many times I have ever doubled up when it was no limit. I would imagine (not trying to exagerate) that it has been about 3 times. That's right I think that there is no possible way for me to win a tourney unless I have the absolute dead nuts hand every f'in time. I mean it too because when I make good plays like I believe I did tonight people always get lucky against me. It is sickining. Just check out the geeks only link on this page and you will see that I have 5 count em 5 4th place finishes (yea I have 3 firsts too). Ask anyone that has played in those tourneys with me and they will tell you that yea every time I have gone out its been to a higher straight or higher flush or higher kicker. Oh and 9 times out of 10 it'll be on the river (yea i know that's why they put it out there). So what's next? I have no freakin clue I like to play I just hate gettin so unlucky I would love to just once maybe even twice in a night to have a big pot go my way. I am not askin to be the luckiest guy in the world and win every time I play I would just like to not have it be so predictable. I can gaurantee that when I play next month the same thing will probably happen my hope is that I don't get eliminated again because of it.

Peace Out. No wait Go fuck yourself lady luck.

Sore throats suck!

You ever wake up in the morning and have a scratchy throat? How about if after breakfast it doesn't go away and every time you swallow it's like small razor blades Shawshanking their way down your throat. I thought it was because I slept and was breathing through my mouth and it just got dry but now that it's on the second day I'm gettin pissed as it might be a sore throat for days. It doesnt help that it's gettin in the 90's+ outside. Wahoo the heat feels good on my throat NOT!

Peace (swallow ahhh pain) Out!

Damn I love my wife!

So yesterday we are playing at the weekly cash game at the Hawkins household. I am gettin a run of some really crappy cards and when I do have good cards they aren't paying me enough. Anyways Ashley was playing great and winning much larger pots than I could ever hope for. She is raising and scaring people away and just playing magnificent. In the end she got enough back for us to play for free that night and eat for free. Damn I love my Wife! Well the monthly tourney is this weekend lets hope I can will away that bad streak of cards.

Peace Out!
