Ebay Rocks

So after little to no effort I picked up 3 poker books for less than what one of them would cost me at a Barnes & Noble. That includes shipping! Is there any reason out there that people should ever pay retail for nearly everything? Hell I even got Monster cables that work perfectly for Half off. Damn those times that I had to go get bent over by retail stores because I wasn't smart enough to at least look at Ebay.

Peace out.

Just a little geeky

So what if I think this is neat. How many miles does your car have? BTW I'm still gettin 28+ MPG.

You ain't as fresh I'm is!

Just a little Hot.

So with temps reaching well above triple digits Las Vegans realize just why we live here.... OK so I don't really know why that is but I am a fan of the heat. The hotter the better! If you grew up in the midwest or in some other part of this nation that has COLD winters you will understand where I am coming from. I will say however that 115-120 is just plan HOT stay inside and move as little as possible hot. I am damn glad the Hawkins' A/C didn't go out this month or we would be in a world of hurt. Or we would just have to have the tourney here... hmmm that sounds like a good idea. Plan for very near future... get house painted (have paint and brushes already) and have a cash game over here or a tourney whatever works (remember to borrow Hawkins' tables). well hope ya'll can stay cool and enjoy what Vegas throws at ya. I'll keep ya posted on the poker thing.

Peace Out.

7 up

After the weekly cash game at John's house i ended up making 7 dollars. In all actuality I can't even remember how I ended up not losing 40. I busted out my first 20 right around 9:30 and since we were all still playing I rebought. I can remember bluffing (which I rarely do) at a pot and taking it but that was not worth that much. I hit a pair of aces on the river to win another pot that one was slightly larger and probably put me in the 30 dollar range. I even said that I was done when I was down money but got dealt anyways and was handed 10h Qh and hit the flush on the turn. After further contemplation I am sure that I got the most out of the hand since John made the comment that he knew he was beat on the turn. That hand earned me everything I was down plus my extra 7. All in all a fun night. Our regular dealer Todd was not there lasy night and it was Carl's birthday so it was a different night all together. SO thats 7 dollars closer to the PS3 now all I need is 85 more nights like that.

Peace Out

I Can't Either

I think people discredit religion because they are incapable of thinking in terms of infinites!

No Ben Nooooo!

If you haven't heard Ben Rothlisberger THE quaterback of the Super Bowl Winning Steelers (damn I love typing that) was in a motorcycle accident today breaking his nose and jaw. Some of you may be wondering how does a million dollar quarterback even get close to a motorcycle? well I don't know but I want to know is how does a human being get on a motorcycle without a freakin helmet? He is now is serious but stable condition, the ground for which the helmet is designed to protect you against is doing just fine. Damn it all to hell. But he'll be fine and this will be less of a story than if/when T.O. will screw up this week.

Peace Out

I love my Luck Wholeheartedly!

For those of you who know me you would say that I play an ok amount of poker. Not an extreme amount but more than your average bear. If you have played in a game with me you would know of my luck or lack thereof sometimes. (along with my angered facial expressions). I could say that the majority of the time I play ok and have room for a lot of improvement but I dont really ever sit back and say that I would win only if I was a better skilled player. Believe me I know where I stand on where my skill is but hey I am trying. What tends to happen more often than not is I am involved in hands that will eliminate me from the tourneys or games with strong cards and good odds and end up losing. The cards are in my favor but the other person I am against will be given one of the very few cards that will allow them to trump my hand. It is generally a higher straight or better flush or heck in the last tourney I had pocket Jacks, Brian R. had pocket Queens, and Ashley had pocket Kings! Who can tell me how many hands they have been involved in where those kind of hands were against each other? Oh and of course I lost that hand big time. I am growing closer to coming to terms with the luck that has been given to me but thats not the point of this Blog. You see I realize all the time that I am blessed with a truly great Wife. I could not imagine having to put up with me on a daily basis. However, Ashley does it and she does it with a smile. So it got me to thinking that the reason I have perpetual bad luck is because God has graced me with a Wife like her. What better luck could a man have than to luck out to get her. So it must be that whatever lucky streaks I was going to be a part of have been consolidated into one big amalgamation. You see Ashley and I 6 years ago couldn't be more different. I was a long haired vegetarian climber and she was a clean cut recent High School Grad. I worked in a warehouse where I would get dirty every single day and I lived in a house with another bachelor. She worked for Bank of America and lived with her parents. I drove a Jeep Wrangler with chrome horns on the front (true story) and she had a nice Honda Civic. So I realize today that as we play Resident Evil on the playstation and as we frequent Poker Tourneys together that I truly have someone that I can do things with and we can enjoy each others company. Despite all the things that made us different before, our lives have grown together to appreciate the important things. She is still the clean cut professional with a nice vehicle but I am now a clean cut climber that has a professional job and actual potential. She saw that and said yes to my absolutly horrific proposal. Now I get to be the one that sees her everyday and I am the one that gets to experience the traveling, the fun, the church, the poker, the kids, the stress and the crazy together. I wouldn't trade my luck for anything.
